Vessel Watch is a company dedicated to their customer's piece of mind concerning their boats. We currently cover Palmetto to Sarasota with new areas coming on-line every month.
Many of the boats in Florida are owned by people that live outside the state or by people that are away for extended periods of time. It's this group of boaters that Vessel Watch offers "Eyes on Deck". This scalable program is designed to reduce the cost of maintenance and offer reassurance that the boats key systems are working properly.
Fact #1: More boats sink at the dock than on an outing.
If you take the hurricane factor out, more boats sink at the dock due to faulty thru hulls, bad bilge pumps and shaft leakage than sink out on the water while being used.
Fact #2: A motor used is less maintenance than one that sits.
Ask any boat mechanic and they will agree that if you leave a boat sit, you are much more likely to have issues than if you were to run your motors 15-20 minutes per month.
Eyes on Deck Level One:
A USCG Captain visits your vessel and checks the following:
Outside Checklist
- All dock lines checked and photographed
- Biminis and Dodgers checked for wear
- Make sure the dockage is secure and the boat is not rubbing on docks or pilings
- Vessel walk around with photos
Inside Checklist
- Open boat for ventilation
- Check bilge for working status (photos)
- Any custom requested checks
- Close up boat - Motor hours documented
Power Checklist:
- Start all motors
- Motor temperatures are monitored and documented
- Water pressure is monitored and documented
- Open strainers are checked
